OUR HISTORY
Founding and Early Development
The PHVFD was established on February 27, 1950, by concerned residents who recognized the necessity for a local fire service. This foundational meeting, held at the Pink Hill town hall, marked the beginning of a community-driven initiative to protect lives and property. Initially operating with limited resources, the department relied heavily on donations and community support.
Community Engagement and Recognition
PHVFD is deeply embedded in the Pink Hill community, hosting annual fundraisers, fire safety education programs, and community events. The department’s volunteers are highly respected for their dedication, often receiving accolades for their service and commitment.
Current Operations
Today, the PHVFD operates with a dedicated team of volunteers, providing essential fire, rescue, and emergency medical services to Pink Hill and surrounding areas. The department remains committed to maintaining a high level of readiness and community engagement, ensuring effective response to any emergency.
The history of the Pink Hill Volunteer Fire Department is a testament to the power of community involvement and the importance of volunteerism in safeguarding public health and safety.
